http://www.php.net: PHP is a relatively easy scripting language to learn and quite powerful. I now use it in the majority of my designs
http://www.designmeltdown.com/: A great site when you're in need of design inspiration.

Smultron Text Editor: Smultron is my favorite free text editor so far on my Mac OS X. I do the majority of my coding in it.
Quicksilver: It's hard to explain if your not a mac user. But it's an keyboard shortcut lovers delight - it's all about speeding up my workflow.
Cyberduck: My FTP client of choice at the moment.
CSSEdit 2.5: A great small app for editing sytle sheets. Works with Cyberduck to edit styles directly on the server. I like it a lot.
