A Complete and Custom Solution

MODX heralds itslef not just as a content management system, but a complete framework.  On this framework, developers can build complete custom solutions, applications, and systems for their clients.

In all of the projects that we've used MODX for, this one made use of the underlying API more than any other.  It's incredibly powerful when you take into account the MODX core and the incredibly poweful open XPDO framework for database functions. 

We made use of all of these things with this project, developing custom database tables that were completely integrated into the MODX environment and, as such, completely accessible by all of the API calls.  Using this, we built a complex user management system that allowed indicvidual users to purchase memberships for Home Harvest "seasons."  This was accoplished via FoxyCart.com and their powerful array of data tools.  Every time a membership is purchased, FoxyCart securely transmits the transaction data back to Home Harvest.  From there, the data is analyzed.  If the purcahse was a membership, this purchase is automatically credited to the correct user.  The system also allows produce to be ordered a la carte and so our logic had to be built to figure out what was what.

It was an incredibly fun project to work on and we'll be making some additional improvements and adding features in the coming weeks.
